First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bombas.
Manager
I applied online through LinkedIn, and a recruiter got in touch to set up a call. The recruiter was super positive and covered logistical stuff, plus gave an overview of the company and the role. The whole process involved a two-part take-home assignment about my management and leadership approach, technical discussions with senior and staff engineers, collaborating with a product owner, and answering questions about my leadership, engineering, and people management background. The overall vibe of the process and the team was great.

- What's your experience been like in leadership?
Influencer Manager
Had 2 phone interviews first, then a case interview that was pretty standard but took a lot of time to complete. After that, I had 1 in person interview where I met with about 4 different people.
- What is your motivation for working here?
- Can you describe how you tracked performance results?
- How would you approach building a program when you're the only one responsible?
Manager
Torrey, the recruiter, was great and kept me informed. The process itself was strange though. Everyone I interviewed with seemed uninterested and distracted. I was first rejected, then asked to do a project. I met the team in person, but was rejected again a week later. I thought meeting the team in the office was usually a formality, so I was surprised by the rejection. The whole thing took over 4 months, and I think it could have been done in 2 weeks. Startups of similar size should pay for work like that. I never got feedback on the project.
- Describe how you handle working under pressure and in an intense environment. How do you receive feedback?
- Can you handle an intense work environment?
- How do you take feedback?
