The interview process includes aptitude/technical tests, then technical interviews focusing on Java, SQL, and problem-solving. After that, there are managerial/HR rounds to check communication skills, flexibility with shifts, and career aspirations. Having good Java, SQL, and fintech knowledge helps get selected; the process is moderately tough.

I applied through campus placement and got an invite via superset to apply, then I received the online assessment link. It included 2 easy DSA questions, Computer Networking, Aptitude, SQL, and DBMS. Later, I got the interview link for a technical interview a day before, and it was originally scheduled for offline. The interviewer was late, joining at 12:35 PM instead of 11:30 AM. Also, the superset website had a glitch, and I couldn't see the interviewer's front camera.

I had two virtual interviews. The first one was about 40 minutes and went well. The second one was okay. When I asked about work-life balance, the interviewer said that employees need to work if they want money. There wasn't really a proper HR round. HR just called and finalized the salary. I tried to talk about my skills and what I've learned, but she didn't care, saying there were other candidates with lower salary expectations and that she'd drop my application if I didn't agree. It made me question if Birlasoft hires based on skills or just budget.

I wanted to share my experience with this company's interview process, it was frustrating and disappointing. It started with a polite recruiter call who scheduled my interview, seeming clear at first. The first round (L1) was standard, with basic coding questions on OOP, collections, and Java 8 features, followed by a Spring Boot API creation task. My code was correct overall, and I passed to L2. L2 was a really negative turn, the interviewer was unprofessional and rude, seemingly biased. They asked me to filter numbers from a parameter in a GET API controller, but moved on before I could finish. Then they asked if I used Agile, and upon answering I didn't use it in my last project but had previously, they abruptly ended the conversation saying 'I am done from my side'. It felt like they had already decided without a fair chance. This round was a huge disappointment, I felt disrespected and dismissed with no real technical depth or conversation. It's unprofessional to treat candidates this way. While L1 was decent, L2 was disappointing due to unprofessionalism, bias, and poor conduct. Be aware your experience can vary greatly by interviewer; if you get someone like my L2 interviewer, expect an unpleasant experience. It's unfortunate one person's behavior negatively impacted my overall impression.
