Behavioral Presentation Case

Recruiter got in touch on Linkedin. First up was an interview with the sales director, which seemed to go alright. Then I had to get ready for a case study for round two. I had to record myself presenting it and then upload the video along with the powerpoint slides. I actually found the assignment pretty tough, it took a lot of digging around and getting things ready. After a few days of work, it was finally done and I uploaded it. Haven't heard back from Bird since.

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design

I applied for the software engineer role in Amsterdam. The whole process took about 9 weeks, not counting holidays. It involved an HR screening, a general technical interview, a live coding challenge, a system design round, an interview with the VP of Engineering focusing on behavioral questions, and finally, an interview with the CTO. The recruiter was super helpful, sending detailed info before each stage and scheduling check-ins. After the offer, there was also a background check that lasted about 2.5 weeks, which seems normal for companies of this size.

Behavioral Technical Case

So I first had a chat with HR, then met the hiring manager. After that, they sent me a take-home assignment. It was pretty involved and specific to the job, asking me to check ROI on paid marketing campaigns and give suggestions based on the data they gave me. I also had to do some ops stuff like build a lead capture page, set up automated lead processing and enrichment, and even write a model for routing leads. It took me about 4 days of work to finish, spread over two weeks. I got an email confirming they got it, but then radio silence. I had to chase them up, and still heard nothing, no feedback, not even a rejection. Eventually, they said they'd check with the hiring manager for feedback, but again, nothing. Terrible experience, honestly. Who just ignores people?

Behavioral Presentation Other

The interview journey was pretty standard. It started with a chat with a recruiter, then moved to the hiring manager, followed by the sales director, and finally a panel interview. The biggest snag was the last interview round. It was super unclear what they wanted for the presentation, and they were completely unhelpful with any info or feedback. Basically, they sent a 30-slide deck with zero context and said 'pitch Message Bird to this company,' 'create an ROI workbook,' and 'build all the collateral.' The amount of work for the presentation felt unreasonable, especially since they gave no value props for their brand or guidance on how they do pitches/demos. Honestly, it felt like a waste of time, and they wouldn't even wrap things up with any feedback. I ended up pulling out.
