First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BIC.
Marketing Product Development Project Manager
I applied early in the week and was quickly contacted for an interview the following week. During the 45-minute HR interview, I was told my profile matched the position and that I would be contacted before the end of the week. However, despite following up at the end of the week, I received an automated rejection email the following Monday. This approach unfortunately lacks transparency and raises questions about the company's ethics regarding respect for candidates.
- What are your salary expectations?
Global Brand Manager
Quick and standard application via their website, first interview with a Talent Acquisition Manager, second interview with their potential N+1, third interview with their potential N+2, a quick and interesting case study to be returned within forty-eight hours, final interview with the HR Director. Many steps, but an extremely quick process (between two to three weeks), with amazing availability from the recruitment team who remained attentive and supportive.
- How do you make decisions?
Director
The recruiters at BIC are incompetent and the process is wholly inefficient and poor for candidates. First, a recruiter from overseas contacts you (in the US) and can only do a call at very limited times. Then, they coordinate with their US recruiter for a call with you, change it several times, and you have to go back and forth with that overseas recruiter on all those changes. And then you never hear from them again, despite following-up w/ them. It's rude and unprofessional.
- Can you walk me through your background and resume?
Brand Manager
The interview process was long and disorganized with no transparency, although the exchanges with the team were good and positive. It initially moved fast, but then I was left hanging for weeks after the final stage because they wanted to process everyone through the entire interview pipeline. The offer, when it finally came, had a salary that was surprisingly and disappointingly outside the range I mentioned in the first interview. The process included: 1) Recruiter Screen: A friendly and helpful recruiter who asked standard background questions, but they hadn't reviewed my profile beforehand since my CV was in French and they don't speak French. They confirmed my salary expectations were within their budget. 2) Personality SHL and Numerical Tests: This was unexpected as it wasn't mentioned during the recruiter interview and took considerable time. 3) N+1 Interview: A pleasant interview with standard questions about my experience. I was asked to present a business case, but the recruiter hadn't provided it to me. 4) N+2 + HR Interview: A good but more challenging interview. It was a positive experience, and they seemed to care about me as an individual. 5) N+1 and Business Case: I then had to prepare a business case, which was quite lengthy but manageable.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- Describe your approach to creating a new innovation concept.
- Can you give an example of an innovation you find effective?
