Senior Manager
The interview process was quite thorough. It was for a brand new role, so many questions focused on how I'd build and scale the function. I got pretty far, just before the final assignment all candidates do. Everyone was really generous with their time. In the end, they needed someone with direct health tech experience, which I didn't have – I just wish they'd been clearer about that upfront.

Contractor
Talent Acquisition reached out to set up an initial call and I replied quickly with when I could chat. After they got in touch, I didn't hear back about scheduling or what the next steps were. It felt disorganized because nobody followed up, and I wasn't sure where things stood with the job. It would be better if someone owned the scheduling process more directly to make things more reliable for candidates. It didn't give me a good feeling about the company.

Product Manager
The interview process itself felt like it had a good mission and individual team members were great, but it was clear there was a lot of disorganization. Multiple people mentioned leadership changes, like the CPO leaving, and nobody seemed sure who would own product strategy. The job had been posted, taken down, and reposted a bunch, which people said was because priorities kept changing. The interview loop looked good on paper, but it didn't feel very organized or move quickly. After all the rounds, I heard nothing for over 3 weeks and had to chase them for updates. They expected a lot of prep, including an analytical round that apparently most people fail, but then just sent a generic rejection without any real feedback. Some interviewers were really nice and open, but others felt like they were just reading a script and didn't show much emotion. It didn't feel like a cohesive culture, especially for a company focused on mental health. It seemed like they made decisions slowly, sent mixed signals, and didn't really live up to their stated values. Candidates should be prepared for this.
- Can you explain your approach to identifying the cause of a sudden drop in a funnel, including how you'd determine the root cause and the metrics you'd use for validation?
- Describe how you would create and assess an A/B test for a new onboarding process.
Full Stack Software Engineer
So first, there was a recruiter call. Then, I had to do this timed online assessment which had four parts, testing frontend skills and basic SQL knowledge. The next stage was a 4-hour take-home assignment where I had to build a full-stack app, including the database design. They let me set up my dev environment beforehand. After finishing the assignment, I presented my work to a group of engineers. It felt like a good way to check my experience, and the team seemed really interested and asked relevant questions. They decided not to move forward with me, probably because they wanted someone with more backend/database experience for the full-stack role. Even though I didn't get the job, it was nice to get real feedback afterward, which is pretty rare these days. Overall, it was a good experience.
- What are your thoughts on handling sorting within your database design?
