I had a 30-min Zoom call with recruiter A.J. who was late and didn't turn on her camera. She rushed through the job description and didn't ask about my background. I had to ask for clarification on some points. We talked for 7 minutes, then she said we'd discuss next steps. But then she sent a rejection email just 2 minutes later saying 'I loved learning about your skills and accomplishments but we decided to make a hard decision.'

The interview process was well-organized and clear from the start thanks to the recruiter. Everything went smoothly with scheduling, and they were accommodating of my other interviews, which made it a really positive experience. The interviews themselves had three parts: first, a technical interview focused on statistics, then a take-home assignment that was challenging but took a fair bit of time, and finally, onsite interviews where I presented my take-home work to the data science team.

So I wasn't sure about this interview process based on other people's reviews, but I decided to go ahead with it. Turns out, it was a complete waste of my time. I never knew what stage I was in because the manager and recruiter weren't clear about it. First, there was a technical assessment with SQL queries and A/B testing questions. Then, I had a video interview with the manager who seemed pretentious and would snicker if I stumbled over my words. Even though he didn't seem to like me much, he passed me to the next round. After that, I had a take-home assignment due in 48 hours. It's weird that they asked for both a technical assessment and a take-home, and the take-home also involved SQL queries, which felt repetitive. The take-home also had A/B testing questions. When they rejected me, I asked for feedback, and the data scientists gave me a really harsh response, saying things like 'I don't even know how he got those numbers and even if I recreate the experiment I still don't know how.' It was brutal and definitely hurt my confidence after I spent hours researching and working on the take-home. I'd advise others to avoid this company if you don't want to invest a lot of time.
