& Process

The hiring process kicked off with a one-hour phone chat that included some behavioral questions and a review of my resume. Following that, I was invited for an on-site interview. The on-site was about three hours long and broken down into a few parts. First, I met with someone from Talent Acquisition who gave me a tour and discussed some benefits. Then, I had a meeting with a department manager. After that, two more managers joined for a short interview panel where I answered more STAR-based behavioral questions. I then had a one-on-one chat with a long-term employee, asking questions from a peer perspective. Finally, I briefly met with a subdivision manager and the initial manager I spoke with. The role and company values were communicated effectively, and the managers were very open to questions and happy to provide answers. The entire process was well-organized, and communication was consistently positive.

The interview process at BPMI was super organized. It began with HR giving a general overview of the role and its perks. Then, a manager from the relevant department elaborated on BPMI and their work. Following that, two managers asked STAR-based questions about my past projects and experience. A cool part was having a former intern available to chat with 1-on-1, where I could ask whatever I wanted. The day wrapped up with lunch with the interviewers. The whole thing lasted about 3 hours.

It was a two step process. Step 1 was a phone interview where we talked about the position and they matched my resume to the job requirements. I got to explain my specific skills and how they fit the role. Step 2 was an in-person interview. This lasted for three hours and had multiple parts covering benefits, the job description, and my skill sets. The most interesting part was a panel interview with three engineers. They asked six questions to see how my experience fits their needs.

I applied online for the internship pretty soon after it was posted. I think they contacted me by email to ask for my transcripts. A few days later, I got a call for a phone screen. We then scheduled a phone interview for a few days after that. The interview went well; the interviewer asked some really good questions and really went through my resume with a fine-tooth comb. At the time, my resume was way worse than it is now (super vague), and he really questioned me on some of my bullet points. It was mostly because I wasn't prepared. The next step was supposed to be an on-site interview. It's been like a month or more and I haven't heard anything back. I'm guessing that silence means I didn't get it. I feel like I should at least get some kind of update on my application status.
