The interview journey had three parts. First, a phone chat with HR for a basic check. Then, an online interview with the HR Manager and Purchasing Manager, where they dug into my past roles and abilities. The last part was meeting the Director in person. Everyone was super nice and professional. The questions were pretty standard, and the whole thing felt relaxed and not too stressful.
I first had a recruiter call to set up a time to chat with the hiring manager. The next step was on MS teams where they basically went over my resume and experience, and asked about my strengths and weaknesses.
Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and set up a meeting with two engineering managers. The recruiter mentioned two open positions, one Frontend and one Fullstack, but during the interview, one of the managers stated there was only one position, senior Frontend. This caused some confusion. Then, one of the managers used ChatGPT to find out what a senior frontend developer should know and started asking questions. It felt unprofessional and hostile, which was strange since they contacted me first and wanted to schedule the interview, only to grill me on things I didn't even apply for.
