Filled out a form with personal info to show interest in the job. After about two weeks, I got an email asking if I wanted to come in for an interview. Had a short talk with the team leader. They asked questions about my motivation and how I work.
I applied for a Senior Backend Developer role at AH. The first interview was with HR, and it was mainly about checking if my skills matched the job. Even though I didn't have Kotlin experience, which was listed as optional, I was given a take-home assignment. I decided to do it in Kotlin even with my limited knowledge. A few days later, I got rejected with some nitpicky feedback. They apparently wanted someone with strong Kotlin skills. I noticed the job description was later updated to only require Kotlin. It felt like a waste of time applying for a job with inaccurate requirements.
After submitting your CV and cover letter, there's a selection process, followed by an introductory meeting. If needed, there might be a second interview or an assessment. After that, you'll get feedback, and if suitable, an offer and contract with clear communication and planning.
