You start with a take-home project to build a REST backend for a game, which is expected to take around 6 hours and likely will. Then, there's a one-hour technical interview to go over your take-home and discuss potential changes. The final stage involves two technical interviews (no coding), a 30-minute Q&A, and three behavioral interviews to assess cultural fit based on your past experiences. A background check will also be conducted.
The interview process was quite thorough and well-organized, giving me a good feel for the company culture and what the job entails. It started with introductory calls with the hiring manager and a recruiter. After that, I had a take-home test, followed by an on-site interview which included several one-on-one meetings and a presentation I had to prepare. It seems like 98point6 really values hiring the right people and takes the time to ensure a good match.
First, I had a chat with a recruiter. Then, I did another phone call, this time with the person I would report to. After that, there was a day packed with video interviews and I also had to present a homework assignment. It felt like a lot, but it's a good way to make sure it's a good fit for both sides.
