Office Manager
The interview experience was great, and the team seemed lovely. When I inquired about my salary expectations, they mentioned the position offered up to $80k. My skillset aligns closely or fully with that. However, they presented a lowball offer and refused to negotiate, stating that the previous manager could earn bonuses of up to $200 per month, though this wasn't guaranteed. This bonus structure was never discussed during the interview, which was surprising, as it wasn't mentioned in the ad either. The setting was perfect, but it wouldn't have made sense for me to leave my current job for the same salary and accommodation.
- What are your salary expectations and how do you think you can contribute to the team?
- Can you explain how you would be able to help our team?
Litigation Assistant
The recruiter called me first to chat about the job and my background. They asked about what I'm doing now and my career goals. I had to apply on their website. Then the recruiter emailed me to set up an in-person interview. I met the office manager and the managing attorney. It was weird because the office manager's name was different from her badge and what the recruiter said. The interview was pretty standard: they told me about the company and the job, asked some basic questions, and then I got to ask mine. There was a question about stacking pennies to the height of the Empire State Building. It was my first in-person interview in a while, and I practiced a lot, but I stuttered a bunch during it. Not sure if that's why I didn't get the job, but oh well. Other than that, it was a pretty normal process.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at this company?
Documentation Specialist
The interview process was pretty smooth and enjoyable. I was contacted via email for an interview. On the day of the interview, I met with the current staff and they were very nice and young, which was great since I'm from the same age group. The conversation was flowing, and they seemed like great people to possibly work with. I had a great first impression. From what I understand, as of 2021, the hiring process is a little different, and the hiring manager is now current staff at the location and no longer from CA like before.
- Tell me about yourself.
- If you were an animal, what kind would you be?
Litigation Clerk
The interview process for the Litigation Clerk position wasn't overly tough, though it spanned a few weeks from the initial contact to receiving the job offer. It started with a call from corporate HR who asked general questions about my background. Following that, I was invited for an in-person interview at their Round Rock office. I went the next week, met the office manager, and got a tour. About a week after the interview, I received a job offer, which was conditional on passing a background check. This background check was quite thorough, looking into all my past employment history, not just references. The offer letter arrived on a Friday, and I was scheduled to start the following Monday.
- What's your approach to dealing with a difficult client?
- Could you share your total years of experience in the legal field?
- Describe a situation where you had to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
