Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Zwicker & Associates.
Litigation Assistant
It was a great interview process. First, there was a quick 15-minute call to give an overview of the job. Then, due to location issues, a follow-up interview was conducted over Zoom. It went really well; they asked a lot of questions, but nothing was overly difficult.
- How effectively can you work in a fast-paced environment?
Litigation Assistant
The recruiter called me first to chat about the job and my background. They asked about what I'm doing now and my career goals. I had to apply on their website. Then the recruiter emailed me to set up an in-person interview. I met the office manager and the managing attorney. It was weird because the office manager's name was different from her badge and what the recruiter said. The interview was pretty standard: they told me about the company and the job, asked some basic questions, and then I got to ask mine. There was a question about stacking pennies to the height of the Empire State Building. It was my first in-person interview in a while, and I practiced a lot, but I stuttered a bunch during it. Not sure if that's why I didn't get the job, but oh well. Other than that, it was a pretty normal process.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at this company?
Paralegal
To prepare for this interview, you should get to know the firm by looking into their practice areas, their size, any recent cases they've worked on, and what their reputation is like. You should also review legal terms, especially those relevant to the firm's area of law, like litigation, corporate law, family law, or intellectual property. Make sure to prepare some STAR stories using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to talk about your past experiences. Lastly, get comfortable with common legal software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Could you introduce yourself and explain your approach to managing stress?
