The interview process spanned several weeks. It kicked off with a technical screen from the recruiter. Then, I had a live coding round where I needed to build a feature within their existing codebase, which was more about practical coding ability than DSA. After that, there was a system design interview where I discussed a past project I had worked on. Lastly, I met with the hiring manager to go over my software engineering background, and this meeting included both behavioral and technical questions.

The interview process moved really fast, like a week and a half from when I applied to the third interview. It was HR Screen, Hiring Manager Interview, and then a SQL Assessment Interview. Honestly, none of the interviews were super tough. I felt pretty good about how I did on the SQL part, but I got a generic rejection email the next day. I tried to get more specific feedback, but they just ghosted me.

HR screening happened first, then an interview with the hiring manager. The recruiter knew the job well and understood how it fit my experience. They kept me updated on the process, timeline, and what the hiring manager would cover. The hiring manager chat was good, felt like we both talked and learned about each other and the role/company culture. It was a good way for both sides to see if it was a fit. I don't think I would have been a cultural fit, just personality-wise, so I appreciated the honest talk about the job's technical needs and the company vibe. No offer was made and I didn't get to the last stage, but it was a respectful and informative process that other companies could learn from.

The recruiter thought I was a great fit and the role seemed like a 100% match for my skills and interests. However, the only person available to interview me was on leave for 14 days, which made me wonder why the position was advertised so early. After their return, the recruiter contacted me only by phone, leaving voicemails to schedule the next round. There was no email communication, and even though I expressed interest in continuing, nothing was scheduled in my calendar. I applied because I love the brand and was willing to take a pay cut, but if they can't even schedule interviews, it suggests they aren't serious about hiring.
