Payment Operations Manager
The full interview process took about 2 months and had 4 rounds. One of the rounds involved a task you had to complete in 2 hours and email back. After my last round, which I thought went well, the recruiter said they'd make a decision within a week. However, 3 weeks went by with no communication. When I followed up, they didn't respond. Honestly, don't bother interviewing with this company. It's a complete waste of time, and they'll likely ghost you.
- Can you share an example of when you improved a process?
Data Operations Analyst
Applied online and the process took 2 weeks. I got a telephonic screening call that was unexpected since I answered a random call from Zepz. The recruiter gave me tips for the next round. The second round was with direct management, where I learned more about the job and my responsibilities. This round had two parts: case study questions and technical questions. The final round was with the director of reporting and data, focusing on culture fit. The recruiter stayed in touch throughout the process, providing feedback and updates. However, I was ghosted at the end, which ruined the experience.
- What would you do to expedite the process if a client is delaying with documents needed for a report due by the end of the month?
Analyst
I went through 3 interviews with the HR Manager, Assistant Manager - Cost of Sales, and Manager - Cost of Sales. The whole process was quite good, fast, and to the point. I was moved to the next stage right after the first interview and got my schedule the next day. The Manager's interview had some tough questions, but it was overall engaging and impactful. Within two days, I received an offer via email and phone, which I accepted. Zepz managed the hiring process smoothly, aiming for an easy and successful experience for candidates.
- What accounting software do you use?
Software Engineer
I had a good experience with Dylan Mistrello, who handles recruiting. He made the process feel pretty chill and easy. He was always on top of things and even gave me some helpful hints and practice questions before each stage, which was great for shaking off the rust. Plus, he helped speed things up since I had other offers on the table. We started with a quick 30-minute chat about my experience and some basic Java stuff. Then, we had another 30-minute session digging into Java keywords, how things work, and common design patterns. After that, I had to take a timed test on the Qualified platform, which had three parts: debugging, designing a schema, and a coding challenge. The next step was a 60-minute coding interview with an engineer where we talked about software design and architecture, and I did a coding exercise. Finally, I had a 30-minute chat with an engineering manager, which was mostly behavioral, focusing on one of my past projects and some questions about fitting into the culture.
- Could you explain the SOLID design principles and choose one to discuss in detail?
- Can you describe one of your past projects and answer some behavioral questions about culture fit?
