It was a friendly process. Started with introductions and some soft questions about my past work. Then we moved on to a series of technical questions. Finally, I got to ask some questions about the company and their tech stack.

I had a good experience with Dylan Mistrello, who handles recruiting. He made the process feel pretty chill and easy. He was always on top of things and even gave me some helpful hints and practice questions before each stage, which was great for shaking off the rust. Plus, he helped speed things up since I had other offers on the table. We started with a quick 30-minute chat about my experience and some basic Java stuff. Then, we had another 30-minute session digging into Java keywords, how things work, and common design patterns. After that, I had to take a timed test on the Qualified platform, which had three parts: debugging, designing a schema, and a coding challenge. The next step was a 60-minute coding interview with an engineer where we talked about software design and architecture, and I did a coding exercise. Finally, I had a 30-minute chat with an engineering manager, which was mostly behavioral, focusing on one of my past projects and some questions about fitting into the culture.

This was a really nice and laid-back interview, totally different from what I'm used to. It felt more like a chat than a formal Q&A. Dylan Mystrello was super helpful, making everything easy and comfortable. He was really communicative, always quick to answer my questions and tell me what to expect and what they were looking for. He was also really honest about feedback and updates, which was great. It was a refreshing experience, and I think it really shows how they value open communication.
