Had a one on one interview with the manager. We reviewed my past work and talked about my work history and experience. Then we reviewed the position and talked about expectations and job details. I explained my skills and availability to seek the best schedule that would work for both of us.

My interview process kicked off with a chat with a senior PM, followed by a case interview with the hiring manager. Then, I presented my personal project to a panel, and after that, I had a final panel interview. Although I didn't get the job I applied for, the recruiter mentioned a similar, slightly more junior role. I said I was interested and sent a few emails over the next couple of weeks, but didn't hear back. It was a frustrating experience considering the time I put in.

So I got invited to an onsite after a recruiter chat. I was supposed to be there from 1 to 5 pm. I had to drive about 40 minutes in traffic from Berkeley. When I arrived, there was construction, and it was chaos because they had moved to a different building. The interviewer was a lead engineer. I mentioned I drove straight from school in traffic, but he didn't even offer me water. First thing he did was critique my resume, saying it was poorly organized and even showed me someone else's. Then he gave me a brainteaser and asked me to code a small class. After an hour, he said he was done and I had to wait for the next person. The next person came in and immediately told me to leave, saying the lead engineer didn't like me and they didn't want to waste more time because they're a busy company. I thought he was joking when he said the first guy didn't like me, figuring they were trying to create a casual vibe. I felt pretty annoyed, honestly. It felt like a waste of time and money. You have to dedicate like 4 hours, go to their office, aren't even offered water, and then they just dismiss you because their time is more valuable.

Got referred by a friend who works there in Cork, Ireland. Sent my CV and had some back-and-forth emails to set up a screening call. The screening call was pretty thorough and seemed to go well, so they set up a Skype interview. However, the scheduled interview time came and went with no contact from Zazzle. I sent a follow-up email but got no response. A week later, I checked in with my friend, and they said "HR contacted you," which clearly didn't happen, otherwise, I wouldn't have sent a confused follow-up. Everyone I interacted with was nice, but the HR department seemed a bit disorganized, and the overall vibe felt a little unprofessional.
