DEI Director
I was approached by the in-house recruitment team in the US for this role in APAC. There was an initial screening, followed by a virtual interview with the hiring manager. The interview got rescheduled three times, and I still haven't received any feedback or outcome, even after following up multiple times. Since then, several headhunters have contacted me about the same position. It was a very unprofessional experience, showing a lack of respect for talent and a disjointed hiring process.
- Could you share your experiences with diversity strategies throughout the region?
Data Analyst
The interview process started off great, with quick responses. However, after I had hour-long interviews with four different people, they just went silent and never told me the result. It was really disappointing to put in so much time and then not even get a courtesy update on how things went.
- Can you share an example of a situation where you faced a challenge and how you overcame it?
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult situation or person.
- Describe a time you made a mistake and what you learned from it.
Senior Backend Developer
First, I was asked to give a background self-introduction. Then, they provided introductions about the company, the team, and the role. Next were coding tests, where I was asked to develop a popularity management system using Python. After that, there was a code review, where I had to review a 50-line piece of code and give feedback. Finally, there was a summary and Q&A session.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Design and implement a Python program to update document popularity ratings.
HR Business Partner
I was initially contacted by an external recruiter. The job description was a bit vague about the "Digitization and AI" part, so I asked the recruiter for more details. They clarified that KFC was looking for an experienced HRBP who could help digitize HR processes, which matched my background. My only interview was with the internal Recruiter, who seemed uninterested. I answered her questions about Digital HR, but she later said I wasn't a good fit because I was too "AI focused", not senior enough (even though my current global role is more senior than the local one they offered), and that I hadn't done direct HR work since 2013 (my CV shows 2021). She also cut me off when I tried to ask clarifying questions. It was a really negative experience and has negatively impacted my view of KFC.
- What makes you want to join this company?
- Can you walk me through your professional history?
- Tell me about your background and experience.
