WWE Interview Questions
& Process

This interview process took place in 2021. It started with 5 rounds of virtual one-on-one interviews. After being told I was the top candidate, they requested an in-person meeting at their office to meet everyone again. By this time, I had already received and accepted two other job offers, which I disclosed to them. I felt the in-person meeting was redundant since I had already met these individuals virtually. They insisted on the meeting and tried to schedule it earlier, but I withdrew my application instead.

The interview process at WWE was smooth with a very reasonable timeline to go through all the necessary phases, about 3 weeks total. I had a screening call with HR, followed by video interviews with the VP of the department, and another two days later with the Art Director I would report to (if I got the position). I have to say, it was a pleasantly surprising series of meetings with full transparency about the role, complete with accurate compensation to measure against the HCOL of the area. I enjoyed speaking with everyone I was scheduled with, and found their energy level positive and respectful for my interest in the role. Best of all, nothing was ambiguous with the candidacy timetable. I was fully informed on the exact date I would know next steps. I was not the finalist selected, but felt I had a great chance for the role - obviously there a lot of competition for the opening with such a well known entertainment brand. One final note: the email notifying me of my rejection was thoughtful and kept the door open to future opportunities and possible freelance consideration. That and a survey about their recruitment process were appreciated gestures that showed me they really cared about their hiring process and how they treated people.

I interviewed for the NXT assistant writer position. It was pretty chill and laid back. They asked me questions about wrestling and NXT. The place looked like a fun place to work, but be prepared to work long hours. Unfortunately, they ghosted me and I never got a rejection email even though they said I'd get one about their decision.

The whole thing took like 5 months and a bunch of interviews. The recruiter was nice though, and always kept me in the loop. The rest of the team was pretty cool and respectful, just kinda wish they were more aware of my time. It was super frustrating to go through all that for 5 months and then just get a 'no' with no feedback. They could totally make this process way simpler.
