First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WONGDOODY.
Brand Manager
I applied to a few jobs at the company and ended up getting interviews for two of them. For the Brand Manager position, the interviewer just jumped into questions without even introducing herself. Then, my interview for the venture associate role got cancelled, and they didn't respond when I asked why. After that, I got a case study which took me a lot of time. They didn't even confirm they got it, and a few days later just told me they were going in a different direction. Reading reviews online, it seems like this company isn't great to work for. I suspect they're just using interviews to gather information about the competitive market.

User Experience Designer
The interview was a bit chaotic. We spent 20 minutes discussing the company's history, but only had 40 minutes for the actual interview, which felt a bit off. The salary negotiation was significantly lower than my other offers, about 40% less. They mentioned they didn't really want me anyway, so it was strange to waste time on salary talks. They asked multiple times what I envisioned for the role, but didn't provide any details about the actual job duties. The start date would have been in about 8-12 months. After the interview, I wasn't formally rejected; I was just ghosted. The interviewer clearly lacked experience in conducting interviews, but the atmosphere was pleasant and friendly. They were punctual and offered to use "du" (informal 'you') right away.
- I noticed some gaps in your resume; could you explain those?
- What's your understanding of our company?
- How do you imagine performing the duties of this role?
Designer
It was a really great experience with the team! There were 2 interview rounds. The first round was with the Design Lead and a Senior Designer. The second round was with the Design Lead and a Senior UI Designer. We talked about my CV, work history, portfolio, and my design approach. We reviewed the case study, discussed challenges and how I arrived at the solutions and the final designs.

Project Manager
This process was pretty brutal...8 rounds of interviews. Before the 8th round, I was told that I had received the position and it was time to celebrate. Then after the 8th round, I was told like 2 weeks later that I was actually not going to be hired. It was emotionally challenging and confusing to have been told one thing and then told another. I found my communications with HR to be really challenging...for example, to tell me that I didn't get the role, 8 rounds in, I was emailed to schedule a call and then when I excitedly responded with my availability, I didn't hear back for 24 hours. Tons of start and stop that has left a bad taste in my mouth.
