Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at WONGDOODY.
User Experience Designer
The interview was a bit chaotic. We spent 20 minutes discussing the company's history, but only had 40 minutes for the actual interview, which felt a bit off. The salary negotiation was significantly lower than my other offers, about 40% less. They mentioned they didn't really want me anyway, so it was strange to waste time on salary talks. They asked multiple times what I envisioned for the role, but didn't provide any details about the actual job duties. The start date would have been in about 8-12 months. After the interview, I wasn't formally rejected; I was just ghosted. The interviewer clearly lacked experience in conducting interviews, but the atmosphere was pleasant and friendly. They were punctual and offered to use "du" (informal 'you') right away.
- I noticed some gaps in your resume; could you explain those?
- What's your understanding of our company?
- How do you imagine performing the duties of this role?
Senior User Experience Designer
The interview process was pretty conversational, mostly talking about my work and experiences. It was semi-formal with a layered questioning style. They asked technical questions about design and the feasibility of solutions, and also questioned me about specific projects.
- Can you describe a project in detail and your role in it?
- What technical challenges did you face in your design work, and how did you address them?
- Were there questions about the feasibility of proposed design solutions?
UIUX Designer
I went through two interviews. The first was with HR, and the second was with some people from the WONGDOODY team. It was a pretty straightforward process. The team wanted to see the projects I'd worked on and specifically asked about projects where I collaborated with others.
- Tell me about your favorite project.
- Can you walk me through that project?
- What steps/methods did you use for research in that project?
