The interview process started with an initial phone screening, and then I went through about 5 more interviews. It felt like a lot for what's basically an entry-level position at the company. They were upfront with me and the process moved really quickly, which was nice. Overall, it just felt like a pretty long and demanding process for a junior role.

Had an initial meeting with the recruiter which was pretty standard. The part that stood out was when they asked about my salary expectations and then told me the role pays $70K and involves managing 3-8 direct reports. I was really taken aback because that's way below market rate, and I was confused why I was even interviewed given my application clearly stated higher expectations. Hopefully, this feedback helps the company realize they need to adjust their compensation to be competitive with the current market, especially considering their benefits are quite costly for employees, from what I've heard from friends who work there.

I applied on the company website for a job at Merrell, where I already work in retail. An HR rep from Wolverine Worldwide contacted me, but missed the first meeting and was bad at rescheduling. We finally rescheduled via email for the next week. The interview was disappointing because he was unprepared and unprofessional. He asked if I knew anyone at Merrell, even though I already work there. He then said he still had to pull up my resume, which I thought he should have done before calling. They asked a lot about my familiarity with traveling and the Denver, CO area since I'd need to relocate. He rushed the end and didn't let me ask my questions.

Had a phone interview with HR, then another phone chat with the hiring manager. After that, it went quiet for two months. Then, they flew me in and put me up in a hotel for an in-person interview with the hiring manager and some senior execs at the main office. The hiring manager didn't really seem to grasp what the job entailed or the kind of person they needed. I tried asking for feedback a few times after the interview, but neither HR nor the hiring manager ever got back to me. It was a pretty weird interview process overall.
