The hiring manager met with me in the Costco food court to review my resume. Since I was still a high school senior, he looked at my grades and liked how I expressed myself. He asked about my availability and when I could start. It was very straightforward. Also, they don't do THC drug tests anymore, which is good because most people working at Costco smoke.

I was reached out to by a recruiter. The interview process was going well until it became apparent that the President had another candidate in mind. I received very positive feedback and was verbally offered a different position. I accepted this new role, which did not require relocation and seemed like a great chance to join the company. However, after accepting, there was complete silence. I never received the offer via email as promised, and the recruiter stopped responding.

So I went into Costco to buy a phone, and I saw they were hiring. I asked about it, they gave me an application and I was interviewed right there. A few days later, I had a phone interview with the District Manager. Then the next week, I went to a different Costco for an interview with his main kiosk manager. After that, you have 48 hours to take a drug test, and they also do a background check. The whole thing took about 2 weeks if you keep up with it.

I was contacted by the hiring manager after applying online. We had a face-to-face meeting, and I accepted the offer. After that, there were standard background and drug checks. The background check hit a snag because they couldn't verify my previous employer, even though it's a huge company. It took a while, but I found an old w-2 to fax them to prove I worked there.
