It was a pretty standard interview process. There were three rounds in total. I first spoke with the hiring people leader, and then I met with the manager two times. The conversations were informative. My advice is to always ask at least two questions to gauge if the role is a good fit for you.
- Can you tell me about the programs and applications you've used previously that would be relevant to this role?
Customer Service Representative
The interview process can be challenging at times, and for first-time applicants, answering some questions might be difficult. However, I understand that the company needs individuals who can provide high-quality customer service in the future. Perhaps some of the tougher questions could be adjusted to help maintain applicants' confidence and avoid a nerve-wracking experience.
- How would you handle doing multiple things at once when under pressure?
Field Sales Representative
I had a phone interview and then was called in for a face to face interview, I'm a top sales agent at another company for many years. I did very well in the phone interview but the face to face did not go as well. As soon as I walked in the interview room the expression on the managers face dropped in disappointment, I disregarded and answered all questions to the best of my ability but both hiring managers continuously asked “why should WE hire you” after the 5th time (and I’m not exaggerating) it became pretty uncomfortable. By the end they suggested I work for a different county instead. The next day the manager from the other county further away called and stated that I lived to far and the commute may be a bit much. A year later I was called for a interview again and it was virtual. The 2021 interview went well and I never received a call for a second interview even though I was told I would. About a year after that I see that they hired 2 field agents for the position that I applied for and both were caucasian men. One of them I previously worked with and he did not have the credentials I had/have. This has weighed on me for several years because I have not seen 1 African American woman field agent in the Tampa Bay or Pinellas county area and this concerns me. Someone should review the hiring practices of this company
- Why should we hire you?
Software Engineer
So I got a call from an HR recruiter first, and we just did a quick chat about my resume and basically screened me. After that, the manager and the software lead for the team called me in for a phone interview. Since it was an entry-level job, it was mostly about my background and school stuff, with just one technical question. Then, I had an in-person interview where I met with the same manager and software lead, plus two other team members. We talked more about my resume, my background, and the job itself. They asked me two more technical questions.
- How would you print the letters of a string containing your name?
- Could you describe your background and academic experiences?
- Can you elaborate on your resume and past experiences?
