The communication was clear. The first round was standard, asking me to walk through my resume and talk about myself. The interviewer was really nice. The second round follow-up took about 3 weeks, which felt a little slow but is pretty normal for a big company.

The interview process was good and easy. The hiring manager and your actual manager were there. It was one interview virtually with behavioral questions and personality questions to see if you're a good fit for the company. The team is spread out in different offices.

It was a really strange experience for an architectural interview. My second interview was on zoom/teams. I felt like the conversation was dry and the interviewer seemed to be waiting for me to keep the awkward conversation going. Usually, in an architectural interview, we start by going through our portfolio, but this person didn't even want to see my portfolio. They talked about their office and team. The interview ended after about 20 minutes. There was no follow-up to let me know if I got the job or not. Firms that do this are red flags, just like Gensler.

I had a phone chat with the recruiter, then a Zoom interview with the hiring manager, followed by a skills test. After that, I had another call with the hiring manager. Once all the interviews were done, I was told to let the recruiter know how I felt about it. I got a verbal offer, but they never actually sent me a written one. It was a good experience overall and I really liked talking to the recruiter. But, it was kind of weird that they didn't send a formal offer and I had to ask them to send it.
