Honestly, don't even bother applying here. The first HackerRank question is a Leetcode medium, which is maybe the only reasonable part. Things get weird after that. This place loves to show off how much more they know about C++ than you do. Their online assessment is full of pretentious C++ multiple-choice questions that are badly written and have nonsensical answers. For example, they ask things like 'Is X plausably reasonable?' which is subjective and indirect. It's like asking 'Does it maybe make sense to do this on occasion?'. They also throw in confusing SFINAE concepts that nobody would use in production because they indicate major design flaws. This suggests their actual code is probably a mess. I'd already read the Glassdoor reviews, and the OA confirmed why they're in such a mess.

Applied online about a month ago and got a notification for a timed coding challenge. After I passed that, they scheduled a phone interview. However, the phone interview got rescheduled because the traders I was supposed to talk to were suddenly unavailable. The phone interview eventually happened, and I was asked an algorithm question. I didn't provide the best solution, and the interviewer seemed annoyed and passed me on to someone else to continue. It was a really bad and disrespectful experience, unlike my other 10+ phone interviews.

I applied through my school and had a quick 30-minute initial interview. It was mostly behavioral questions with a couple of probability problems thrown in. Then, a couple weeks later, I had a full on-site interview where I met a bunch of senior people. Everyone was nice and HR got back to me quickly. It wasn't during trading hours, but it didn't seem super stressful or edgy. I figured most people there were either experienced finance pros or had strong math backgrounds.

So I started with a recruiter chat, you know, the usual stuff. Then, I jumped into a technical discussion with two senior FPGA folks. We talked a lot about my past work. No specific tech questions though. After that, I met with the CTO, and that went pretty well. The CTO suggested we try a contract thing first, which I was cool with. But then, out of nowhere, I got a rejection email. I asked for more info but they were vague.
