First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vivian Health.
Data Scientist
Vivian's recruiter messaged me on LinkedIn, and we had a screening call that went super well. We really clicked and had some good conversations, and she seemed to think I was a good fit and would move to the next step. But then she ghosted me for over a month. I followed up a few times, and she finally got back to me saying I'd hear back soon. After that, I just got a generic rejection email. I asked for feedback, but got none. It was a really bad and unprofessional experience. The disorganization and poor communication make me hesitant to join Vivian.
- Can you describe a project where you...
- Could you walk me through some typical experiential data science questions?
Software Engineer
It started with a recruiter call covering the basics. Then there was a technical interview focusing on my past experience, and another technical interview specifically about React. Finally, I had two rounds of behavioral interviews, one with someone from an adjacent team and another with someone from the engineering team.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
- Can you tell me about your technical background?
- Describe your experience with React.
Software Engineer
A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and I passed along my info. The first round was a basic technical interview, just a meet and greet to chat about backgrounds and experience, and they looked at some basic JavaScript and React examples. The second round had three interviews: first, a behavioral one with questions like "Describe a time when..." and "How would you describe...?" Second, a more detailed front-end/React interview where I had to build against two scenarios using React. Third, a non-technical stakeholder interview focused on explaining technical concepts to non-technical people. Finally, I interviewed with the CTO, which was presented as more of a casual chat rather than a formal interview.
- What makes you want to work for this company and in this position?
- Tell me about a situation where...
- How do you characterize...?
Growth Analyst
I applied through Angel List and had an initial screening with Emily Hartmann. Following that, I interviewed with the hiring manager, then had a panel interview with the heads of operations, engineering, and marketing. After the panel, Emily sent me information about the health plan and benefits, indicating they intended to offer me a position. The final step was a brief 30-minute call with the CEO, which took place about a week after the panel. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back from Nursefly after that call. When I tried to contact Emily, she blocked my number. While the people at Nursefly seemed nice, the overall process felt very unprofessional.
- Can you tell me about your experience with Segment and the MarTech stack?
