First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Visionworks.
Sales Associate
This interview experience was really unprofessional. I could barely speak without being cut off from the very first question. It got worse from there. They asked some questions that felt inappropriate and too personal. For example, the manager brought up my period and how it might affect my work, which felt sexist and discriminatory. She also implied I'd have no excuse for missing work because she has more kids and rarely calls out. I'd seriously steer clear of this company.

Assistant Buyer
The interview process initially seemed to be moving quite fast. I had a positive interaction with the recruiter during the initial screening call and was subsequently invited for two additional interviews. Although I was informed that I would receive a response within a two-week timeframe, it actually took two months. During this extended waiting period, I reached out multiple times but never got a reply until the final communication where I was informed that they had selected another candidate. Their communication throughout the process could have been much better. If I wasn't going to get an offer, I don't think I should have been kept engaged in a hiring process that lasted three months.
- What characteristics do you value in colleagues and superiors?
Optical Dispenser
They started on time. We talked and they answered my questions professionally. Other staff seemed happy. The interviewer was friendly. They asked about my experience in the field. We discussed my past jobs. They asked if I enjoyed working with people and about my interactions with doctors. A math test was given at the end.
- For how long have you worked as an optician?
Human Resources Manager
I applied for the Human Resources Manager role in DFW. I contacted the HR director, who then passed my resume to the recruiter. I had a conversation with the regional recruiter, who was very friendly and shared details about the company's growth. The HRM position is undergoing changes, so she couldn't provide specific details, but it seemed like a positive shift. The phone screening was about an hour long, and she mentioned I'd hear back in a few days. Four days later, I got an email stating they chose another candidate. I was quite disappointed because the company, team, and role seemed ideal. Everyone I met was pleasant and professional. The future outlook for Visionworks is promising, and I'll be watching for future openings.
