Sales
The interview process included an HR interview, followed by interviews with a sales manager, and then a VP or Director or Manager’s boss. These interviews were conducted over Zoom or Teams. After multiple interviews and sending several thank you letters, the company did not follow up via email or phone. Even polite calls or professional emails were not returned. This lack of follow-up after multiple interviews was considered rude and disrespectful, indicating low standards from HR and leadership.
- What's your reason for seeking to leave your present employment?
Product Manager
I applied for a PM role on their website. About 10 days after applying, I had an HR screen. It was a really informative interview, but super rushed. The person interviewing me was really into the company and the role, and knew a lot, but they kept interrupting me. It felt like the whole interview was just to check a box and meet some quota. A few weeks later, I got a standard rejection email with no feedback.
- Tell me what you know about our company and its business.
Senior Data Analyst
I applied for a systems analyst role but was later contacted about a senior data analyst position which seemed like a better fit. A recruiter spoke with me positively about the role and scheduled an online interview with the hiring manager for the next week. I was surprised the interview was only 30 minutes, feeling it was too short to properly discuss the position. The hiring manager offered minimal introduction, no details about the role or expectations. They then proceeded with standardized questions from their laptop. Within five minutes, I felt I wouldn't get the job. The manager seemed to be checking emails and uninterested. After twenty minutes of questions, I was certain I wouldn't proceed. The experience felt insulting and a waste of time, especially since the company initiated contact for this role. Despite a positive recruiter chat and my experience aligning with the role, the interview was disappointing due to the manager's apparent lack of interest. If I had been asked to move forward, I would have declined due to the negative interaction with the manager, who didn't seem like someone I'd want to work with.
- What systems have you used for data extraction, and what methods do you employ?
Structural Engineer
The interviewers were nice and seemed really into it. I was a bit unsure because the job was different from my last one, and I felt they spent a good amount of time making sure it was a good fit for everyone. First, I had to do a 10-15 min presentation about a problem I solved. Then, we had a regular interview chat and a tour. Lastly, there was a written test, which was pretty stressful. I didn't get an offer because it wasn't quite right for either of us, but I'd still say it was a good experience overall because they made an effort and were engaged all day.
- Could you give a 10-15 minute presentation about a technical problem you encountered and how you solved it?
