First there was a short phone call to ask some basic questions, some of them in English. Then, there was an individual interview. After that, a two-hour group interview that was quite varied, including group exercises and questions in English.

The interview process started with a screening, followed by two interviews with a senior manager and then a director. Scheduling was inconsistent because the Chicago office kept changing their minds about whether the interviews would be in person or online. The manager interview included structured questions. The director interview went off script and they said I had all the qualities they were looking for, so they didn't have any further questions. I haven't felt this disrespected as a candidate in a while, and I don't plan on applying again in the future.

I interviewed with Vialto, and the recruiter spoke with me about my resume, my background, my motivations for wanting to join the company, and my reasons for considering a move from my current job. They said they'd let me know about the next steps, but I haven't heard back. I sent a follow-up email, and it hasn't been answered. While I get that hiring can be a lot, it's important to keep candidates in the loop. Following through shows professionalism and company values.

The interview was a bit drawn out, with them explaining the job description and then asking me questions. Turns out the job didn't really need someone with a legal background like me, just anyone with a degree. I was rejected for the role the same day, but then they offered me a position on a backend team for less pay. This is actually the second time they've pushed me to consider a lower-paying job even though I'm well-qualified.
