First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VelocityEHS.
Implementation Specialist
First, I had a screening chat with someone from HR. If I passed that, I then had a behavioral chat with a manager and a lead. The last step was a technical interview with a manager and a principal implementation specialist. Everyone I met was really nice, communicative, and understanding. I never felt any pressure, and it felt more like talking with future teammates. Overall, the interviews were a good experience for me.
- Can you explain SQL Joins and queries?
- How do you duplicate items in Excel?
- How would you approach hypothetical problems and what is your thought process?
Senior Product Owner
The interview process at Velocity was thorough and enjoyable. They did a great job setting clear expectations from the initial screening to the final round. Outside of the preliminary screenings (2) with members of the HR team, I participated in four interviews. The third round was with individuals I had met with in round one, however this round was more involved. I was asked to present on a past project and incorporate my approach to product ideation through development/execution. I appreciated this round the most as it demonstrated the company's commitment to hiring top talent.
- Can you tell me about a time you experienced failure?
Product Manager
I'm in the early stages of the hiring process and so far I've had 2 screening rounds with Sasha Munroe, the recruiter for this role. My experience with Sasha was great. She has a good understanding of the Product Manager position and shared enough information about the company and the job. My interview experience and communication with Sasha gave me a good feel for the company culture at VelocityEHS. It seems like the company really wants to get to know people well before hiring, which could mean they'd prioritize getting to know coworkers, helping people grow within the company. Really looking forward to my next interviews.
- How do you foster inclusion in your work environment?
Software Engineer
The first stage was a recruiter interview where I had to complete a pre-interview form that basically just asked for information already on my CV. I have tons of experience with their required tech stack and it seemed like a good fit. The recruiter said they'd get back to me in a day or two after chatting with the hiring manager and specifically mentioned no long waits. Nearly two weeks later, and after I sent one follow-up email that was ignored, I got a LinkedIn message from the company saying I didn't move forward. I thought it was really unprofessional how they didn't keep their word and just ignored my follow-up. My advice is to avoid interviewing here if you don't want to waste your time.
- Can you discuss your experience?
