Value
So first I talked to the recruiter, then the head of research, and then the CGO. The big part was a presentation where I had to do a Business Case on a real customer (ServiceNow) that they needed help selling to. It was a 7 page assignment. It seemed weird to me that the CGO wouldn't be there for the presentation. They basically said "we need you to tell us how to do it." It felt like they wanted free work and to record it, which seemed pretty unethical.
- They asked me to build a Business Case using a 7 page assignment for a real live customer they needed help selling to. They said "we need you to tell us how to do it."
Senior Software Engineer
The technical interviewers were great and I really enjoyed the process with the team. I got good feedback on the interviews, but then they ghosted me for a month even after I sent follow-up emails. Finally, they emailed on a Thursday wanting to meet before the end of the week to make an offer. So, it went from ghosted to rushed. I had to cancel plans on Friday evening to make time for the interview. They offered me 40k/year, which was lower than I expected for a tech company in Toronto given my seniority and the lengthy interview process. The whole thing took 2 months.
- Fix and refactor Tic Tac Toe. Tell me about yourself.
- Number of islands. Give tree structure of a list of filepaths. System design questions.
IT Business Consultant
The first interview was a short chat with HR about my background and skills. Then, I had another discussion with a manager focusing on my experience and how I'd handle certain project or work scenarios, which also included an SQL test. The final interview was with two people, a manager and a Senior Consultant, and it was more of a general chat about my experience, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills.
- Describe a time you managed stressful situations.
- How do you approach work situations, team dynamics, and project challenges?
- Can you complete this SQL test?
Customer Success Manager
The hiring process was typical, starting with a recruiter call. Then, I had a 45-minute interview with the hiring manager. The next step involved an interview with one of their Account Executives. The final stage was a meeting with their VP of CS. Communication with the recruiter was good all the way through, but I was really disappointed to get a templated rejection email after the last interview. I asked for feedback, either written or over the phone, but never heard back. I feel like companies should provide feedback after so many interview rounds to show they respect candidates' time and effort, which I felt was not the case here.
- Tell me about the commercial aspects of the CSM role and how you would approach growing accounts.
