Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Varicent.
Technical Analyst
I applied online - After a week or so I was invited to a call with a recruiter, mostly soft skill and behavioral questions - 10 days later, I had a virtual meeting with the hiring manager and a senior PM - was told there would be another call with the director but I think the company put the hiring of this position on hold
- The hiring manager tested coding and database design skills in 20 mins with 4 questions.
Technical Analyst
The first step was a screening interview where I had to answer questions based on a prompt shown on the screen. Each question had a short time limit. The questions themselves weren't too hard, but this one-way interview style didn't give me much chance to learn about the company. I think Varicent should use video interviews with actual recruiters or employees more often. That way, candidates could ask questions to get a better feel for the company and the role. The reviewer does give feedback, but I think it would be more helpful if it came from a live, two-way interview instead of this one-sided format.
- How do you think your colleagues would describe you?
Technical Analyst
I had three interviews. The first one was on video. The second interview was with three people from the support department, and the third one was with the support director. Overall, it was a good and easy experience.
- Can you explain the different types of SQL JOINs?
