First, there was a writing assignment that was a thought exercise required when I applied. Then, a one-on-one interview acted as a screener. Finally, there was a panel interview with the whole leadership team to verify more nuanced parts of my experience.

The interview experience was a bit confusing because the advertised position wasn't what they ended up interviewing me for, but we moved forward anyway! They have a very relational way of interviewing and they speak well and are clearly passionate about their work.

The interview process was pretty standard, but it dragged on forever and I barely heard from them. The hiring manager asked a bunch of questions about my previous work and the specific skills they needed. It took a really long time and there was almost no communication.

The interview was on Teams, and my camera didn't work, which was my fault for not checking beforehand. I'm sure it didn't look good. The interview was pretty basic, which threw me off a bit because I expected more of a performance-based interview. I noticed some eye-rolling from one of the interviewers in response to some of my answers, so I think they didn't like my answers.

  • Please demonstrate your knowledge of the VETS program and explain how your current skills align with the job description.
  • Good luck.
