The interview process was rough. I spoke with three people for an hour each. I submitted some extra work and was told I was in line for a test, but then I got ghosted. I thought I connected well with the interviewers and things were going smoothly. The pay was less than other places, but I was keen on the company, its people, and its mission. Oh well.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It started with a screening, then I had meetings with 4 people on the same day, totaling about 5 hours of video calls. I first spoke with the hiring manager, followed by the CTO, CMO, and another engineering manager. I felt like most of them didn't really know the details of the role or have the technical background for it, which made me wonder why I was interviewing with them beyond just assessing cultural fit. Ultimately, I received an automated rejection, which I found disrespectful given the time I invested in the process.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was long and took up a lot of my time. While I get that they wanted to make sure I was a good culture fit, they should also be more mindful of the candidate's time. I made it to the final round, but they ended up hiring someone else. That's totally fine and I respect their decision. However, after putting in so much time for 6 interviews and a presentation, I would have really liked some specific feedback on why I wasn't chosen. This feedback would be super helpful for my job search. They also asked some pretty personal questions about my other job applications and how far I was in those processes, which was kind of awkward to answer.

The interview experience started off a bit disorganized with confusing directions on where to check in. Once I found the right floor, I was given an availability form and had to wait with others to see the hiring manager. I was surprised to find out it was a group interview. We all went in together, paired up, and did role-playing exercises where we introduced our partners. After that, there was an individual computer-based assessment that lasted about 45 minutes, where we had to respond to potential customer issues by using Google and navigating the company website. Finally, each person was brought in for a discussion about job prospects. The whole process took about three hours.
