I applied via JobStreet, and the whole thing took about three weeks from start to offer. First, HR gives you a call for an online interview on MS Teams. Then you meet with the Technical Lead and Hiring Manager. Finally, HR calls again to let you know the result and to give you the official offer.

It was a simple interview for a new graduate role, but I wasn't selected in the end. The reason for not being shortlisted is still unclear. The interview process had two stages: first with the hiring manager, then with the department manager. Both managers asked similar questions, and no technical questions were posed during the interviews.

The interview process included a 20-minute IQ test followed by an interview with the Dev Manager. The interview was conducted in Mandarin, and the conversation was pleasant, but might be uncomfortable for those not proficient in Mandarin. This job seems to be ideal for fresh graduates from local universities, as they seem to value education level highly. Those without a full-time degree from a local university, even with job experience, should probably avoid this role, as part-time degrees are not considered valuable. Knowledge of big data and optimization algorithms is helpful, but explanations need to be accurate.

I interviewed at UMC back in May 2016. The hiring process had three stages: an initial assessment, then a first round with two interviewers who checked my basic qualifications, and finally, a meeting with a director focusing more on my personality and values. The entire thing took about a month. It seems like they're often looking for new people to join their team. The interviews weren't too tough, but fitting into their company culture seemed really important.
