First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UMC.
Failure Analysis Engineer
It was a long, detailed interview process with many rounds, including IQ tests and hypothetical questions. I think it could be shorter with a faster response time. The HR was helpful, but only if you were proactive. Otherwise, you'd just have to wait.
- Can you commit to working here for a specific number of years?
- Can you guarantee your commitment for a certain duration?
Equipment Engineer
First, there was an IQ test to complete in about 20 minutes. Then, we did a self-introduction in English. After that, I had to answer questions about my knowledge of UMC and the semiconductor industry. The interviewer seemed strict initially, but then they became more approachable and patiently answered my questions.
- What is your understanding of the semiconductor field?
Engineer
Had a WhatsApp call with the manager about the job scope and working environment. Then, an HR call to confirm identity items like latest payment and personal information. Overall a good interview process with nice people.
- What makes you want to join our company?
