Behavioral Presentation

For the interview, they asked me one question that was based on the set government behaviours. Then, there was a follow-up question for each behaviour. The specific behaviours they were looking for in this role were 'Seeing the Big Picture', 'Communicating and Influencing', and 'Managing a Quality Service'. Following this, I had to give a presentation.

Applying was straightforward, and the Civil Service portal confirmed my shortlisting quickly. I then selected an interview time, and a Teams link was promptly sent. The actual interview experience, however, was quite poor. Despite chasing twice and mentioning I had another interview lined up, I didn't hear back about the outcome for 2.5 weeks. The hiring manager also gave unprofessional, personal feedback, questioning 'what my future career aspirations' were. Oddly, they didn't ask why I wanted the role, which isn't helpful feedback for improving my interview skills.

Behavioral Technical

The interviewers were professional and smiling but I no longer let that fool me again because to me it's kind of deception to make you feel like you are on point and it doesn't mean they will give you the job even if you did well. Because from the feedback they mentioned that I was able to provide enough evidence of my skill, ability and knowledge but they still didn't give me the job. They ask a lot of behavioural situational questions and few technical questions

First, they screened my CV and personal statement to see if I was shortlisted. Then, there were 3 technical questions about risk, stakeholder management, and one I can't recall. After that, 3 behavioral questions were asked regarding leadership, communication, and a third I forgot. The interview had 2 interviewers and one independent person.

  • What's your process for managing stakeholders in a project setting?
