First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UDR.
Leasing Consultant
I had a really good time interviewing for the Leasing Consultant job at UDR. We did three interviews in person, and they were all set up well and let me get to know the team. The recruiter was awesome at keeping me in the loop, making sure I knew what was happening and was ready. It felt like they cared about me as a candidate, and it made me even more excited about working at UDR. Definitely recommend it!
- Can you describe how you manage your organization and ensure timely and effective follow-ups with potential clients or current residents?
Marketing Coordinator
I had an initial phone screening with a recruiter to see if I would be a good fit. About a week later I was informed that they were going in a different direction. Two months later I received an email from the recruiter saying they want to setup an interview with the hiring manager. I had an interview with the hiring manager which consisted mostly of questions about my past experience. I then had a second interview with director of marketing which consisted of questions related to time management and working in a team environment. Three days later I was notified that they were going in a different direction (I believe it was due to asking for a salary above their budgeted range). Overall everyone was very friendly and the entire process was pretty laidback.
- How would your co-workers describe you?
Leasing Consultant
Had a transactional phone call with UDR's recruiter; she asked short questions and stated my salary expectations were too high and wouldn't proceed. Two weeks later, I was invited to interview with the property manager for 1301 Thomas Circle at Andover House. It was unsettling that the Leasing Consultant for 1301 Thomas Circle viewed my LinkedIn profile the day before the interview, indicating a lack of application confidentiality. The commission structure was complex and lower than industry standards, leading me to decide it wasn't a better opportunity.
- What are your salary expectations?
Social Media Coordinator
We began with an initial HR interview, followed by two more interviews with individual people before the offer was made. The whole process was pretty straightforward and mostly conversational, with a few questions. It was fairly easy. The first interview was basically a screening to see if I was a good fit to continue. The second interview was with the Marketing Director for the entire company, and the third was with the local supervisor I would be reporting to.
- Tell me about how you've used organization in previous roles.
- Describe your experience with time management in past positions.
