First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UC Davis Health.
Registered Nurse
Had a panel interview over zoom with about 5 people. They didn't give much feedback after each question and just moved on to the next, kind of like a round robin. They asked a lot of scenario-based questions and some critical thinking ones.
- What's your approach to handling a pediatric patient who frequently uses emergency services?
- Describe a situation where you demonstrated cultural competence.
- Explain how you would interpret an ABG.
Clinical Research Coordinator
You submit an application through the UC Davis company site for a general opening. After that, people in admin roles in research departments might get in touch for an interview, and this could take a few months. The interviews typically inquire about your prior research experience. It usually takes a few weeks from when you interview to when you start the job.
- Can you describe your prior experience in clinical trials?
Clinical Pharmacist
Got an email invite for a remote interview, no recruiter call or discussion about the job description. It was 3 panels, lasting 2.5 hours total. The questions felt formal and robotic, like they were read from a script. Didn't really feel like they valued me as a candidate. Ended up getting ghosted, no word back after 6 weeks. Not sure I would have taken the job even if they offered. Definitely not applying again.
- How do you incorporate equity and inclusion into your current role
Administrative Officer
A recruiter or admin person will contact you to set up a panel interview. This panel interview will have about 4-6 people on it and they will ask you around 8-10 behavioral questions. After the interview, HR will email you if you are one of the final candidates and ask for your references to be checked through SkillSurvey.
- Can you explain your motivation for applying to this role?
- Which software applications do you have experience with?
- Describe a time you dealt with conflict, giving two concrete examples and the lessons you took away from each.
