First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TYPO.
Sales Advisor
We had a group interview first. Then, there was a one-on-one chat at the end. They asked about my experience, my availability, and just generally about me as a person. It felt pretty informal and relaxed.
- Could you tell me about your availability?
- How would you describe yourself in three words?
- What's your understanding of typo?
Retail Assistant
We had a group interview at the head office. We did some group activities and met the regional managers. It was to see who would be a good fit for the role. It was a fun and relaxed process. It was cool to meet other people who might get jobs in other stores for Christmas too. Good experience.
- What is your motivation for wanting this position?
Sales Assistant
it was a group interview for a christmas sales position. when we arrived, we were all asked to fill in an availability form, then we were given some tasks to complete in small groups. they asked the group some questions about how we would deliver effective customer service, and then at the end gave us a task where we were given a scenario and asked to find things in the store in accordance to the scenario. e.g. 8y/o boy xmas present who likes the colour blue
- How would you greet a customer upon their entry to ensure they feel welcome?
- Describe how you would deliver effective customer service within a group setting.
- Imagine you need to find a gift for a specific scenario, like a Christmas present for an 8-year-old boy who likes blue. How would you go about finding the right items in the store?
Sales Assistant
The interview process was quite simple and the questions were straightforward. It took place in the store room, which made it feel less tense. The interviewer was very friendly, although it wasn't the manager because she was off that day.
- What is your earliest availability to start?
- Are you familiar with the process of conducting a stock check?
