Data Science Manager
I had a video call with the recruiter to start. After that, she scheduled a session with the hiring manager, who is the VP. That call was great and really got me interested in the company and their product. Then, they set up a couple of panel interviews with the team. I really enjoyed talking with the team members in those meetings. They asked relevant questions about data science and management styles. There was one session where the questions seemed more about fulfilling curiosity and learning from my experiences, rather than being directly relevant to the role. Overall, I really liked their product and team, even though I didn't get the job.
- A mix of technical and behavioural questions were asked.
Software Engineer
The interview journey started with a positive initial phone screen with the recruiter, Cherlynne, who really set a good tone by explaining the company's mission and objectives clearly. Following that, there were two live programming technical interviews via Hangouts with the lead engineer. This engineer was really engaging and helpful, open to questions, and seemed genuinely invested in my success if I had the necessary skills. The questions felt comparable in difficulty to those at other tech companies, focusing on practical knowledge rather than tricky or obscure coding challenges. Then came the on-site portion, which consisted of five interviews spread over four hours, each lasting between 30 to 60 minutes. Two of these were technical interviews, again posing fair questions that assessed both coding ability and problem-solving skills without being overly difficult. The remaining interviews were behavioral, designed to gauge how I would fit in with the existing team. They were very accommodating with breaks, and everyone I met was exceptionally nice, creating a really positive atmosphere. It was quite remarkable how many genuinely happy and engaged people were working there, a stark contrast to some other Bay Area tech companies where interviewers sometimes appear burned out. This positive environment, where people seemed to truly enjoy their work, was a key factor in my decision to accept the offer without hesitation.

The interview process first started with a 10 minute phone conversation with Valerie. She made me very intrigued with what the company had to offer. She then arranged for a 2 hour in-person interview in which I had to speak with four different people. I was already intimidated knowing that I would be interviewed by four different people. When I showed up for my interview, however, I was greeted by the receptionist who was so friendly. He offered me refreshments and we had a great personal conversation, which made me feel super at ease. I then met with Valerie in person, who was my first interviewer. She was so personable and friendly. She really prepared and prepped me for the next 3 interviewers I had to speak to. I literally felt like I was speaking to a friend! All 3 interviewers afterwards were great! Of course, they each wanted to learn about my past work experience, skills, and what I had to bring to the table when it comes to fulfilling the position. However, what most impressed me by everyone was how they really emphasized on having a positive work environment. Each interviewer not only wanted someone who was skilled, but they really stressed the importance of having a good personality and working as a team. They mentioned how they not only want everyone to work hard but also wanted everyone to have fun afterwards, by having after work events where everyone can enjoy themselves and each other's company. Having a positive and fun work environment is very important to me. I am a hard worker but feel that there should be a balance with working hard and having fun. All four interviewers made me super excited to start working for TrueAccord!

Customer Success Manager
I applied online and was able to connect with a friend who worked at TrueAccord. My interview journey kicked off with a 30-minute chat with Valerie, which was a good way to start. She asked actual interview questions, and it was nice to have clear expectations set. After that, Cherlynne took over and arranged an on-site meeting with four people: Valerie, the Sr. Project Manager, a Sr. Customer Success Manager, and the CS Director. They focused on explaining the role and the hard work involved, rather than just using industry jargon, which was a great approach. Everyone I met was professional, genuine, and seemed to really enjoy their work and work well as a team. The final step was a video call with the COO/Co-Founder. Each person I spoke with was authentic, open, intelligent, and dedicated. The COO interview was particularly inspiring. The company's transparency, diversity, strong work ethic, and product were very impressive. A few days later, Valerie called with a job offer for the Customer Success Manager position, which I happily accepted.
