Started with an HR reachout, then an online assessment covering ML and DSA. After that, a technical interview involved 1-2 LeetCode medium/hard problems. The process concluded with an onsite superday, though I didn't proceed to the final round. My overall experience was positive, but surprisingly, no specific data science or machine learning questions were asked. The tech round itself went well, but the feedback from HR was that the team was seeking a candidate with 'more experience'.

So first there was a recruiter call, then a take home assignment. After that, there were about 3 to 4 virtual rounds. These virtual interviews are pretty standard if you know leetcode (python), probability and math. Finally, there was an in-person super day.

They asked me if I knew what the company does. I said alpha factor research and then they gave me a corporate monologue with buzzwords like "innovative" and "cutting-edge" which didn't clarify anything. Basic distinctions between investment banking divisions seemed new to them, and a question about visa sponsorship turned into an immigration law seminar. After half an hour of circular talk and confusion, it seemed curiosity and competence were not required.
