First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at tms.
Intern
I filled out an application questionnaire where I had to rank my top 5 intern positions/areas of interest and answer 7 prompts. Then, I had one interview with the manager for my top choice. I'm not sure if other candidates had more interviews for their other ranked roles. I got an offer about 1.5 weeks after the interview and accepted it.
- What campaign from TMS do you like the most?
Category Manager
They were responsive for the first couple of rounds, but then I never heard back with any feedback. It would've been nice to get at least an automated rejection email. I had to follow up myself to find out they decided to go with an internal candidate.
- Can you tell me about your general work experience and any behavioral examples?
- Could you elaborate on your technical knowledge related to this role?
Marketing Operations Manager
I was contacted by a recruiter through an employee referral. We had a quick 20-minute initial phone chat. They mentioned other roles at the company for about 2-3 weeks. When we settled on the Marketing Operations role, I then spoke with the Marketing Operations Manager for 30 minutes over the phone. The next week, I went in for an in-person interview that took about 2 hours. I met the Manager, some Associate Managers, and Account Executives from the team. Finally, I had a short 15-minute phone call with the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing Operations. I got the offer about 3-5 days after that.
- What makes you a strong candidate for Marketing Operations?
- Can you share an experience where you faced and overcame a challenge?
- What do you like to do in your free time?
Administrative
Recruiter called me out of the blue and insisted on setting up an interview immediately despite me telling her my time was limited that week bc they were going to “move very fast” with this position. When we spoke she again insisted on having me speak to the CoS immediately and asked me to let her know if I received another offer because she “really liked me.” Talked to the CoS; went fine. Sent a follow-up email to the recruiter with no reply. Then I was completely ghosted. Not very professional or impressive.
