The interview started with a basic recruiter phone screen. The first appointment was cancelled by the interviewer and rescheduled for the next week, super close to the meeting time. The interviewer seemed bored and was just reading off a script. When I asked about expectations and timelines, they said I'd get that info later if they proceeded. Then came a three-hour product assessment, not some generic test, but a deep dive into their actual software. The questions were really vague and open to interpretation, not well-written for requirements gathering. Some questions were about an older version of the software I hadn't seen. It didn't really test my product or technical skills much. A few days later, I was rejected. I should have trusted my gut initially. They probably use this assessment to get free product analysis from experienced PMs, even from candidates they don't plan to hire. Big red flags everywhere. Don't let them waste your time like they did mine. It's good it didn't work out, I found a much better job somewhere else.

  • Can you tell me about your salary expectations and background?
  • The assessment involved reviewing the company's product, not a typical skills test.

So, the interview process was like, a 4-step thing. First, an HR interview where they asked basic resume stuff and behavior questions. Then, an online assessment testing .NET/Python/OOO. After that, there was a panel interview with the development manager and two developers. Finally, I had an interview with the CTO. They laid out the whole process from the beginning, and it moved pretty fast after the initial HR chat. Honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about prepping for the online assessment; the questions were either about general programming principles or super specific, so general prep wouldn't really help. All in all, it was a nice interview experience. You still gotta know your stuff like data structures and complexity, but they weren't asking you to invert a binary tree on the spot or anything.

The interview process started with a 30-minute phone screen with the recruiter, which got rescheduled but the recruiter was nice about it. Right after the call, I got a 15-minute timed written assessment. After completing the assessment, I received an email to schedule an interview with two customer service managers. The email had the wrong date but everyone showed up anyway. The email also told me to dress nicely and do a free trial and prepare questions about it. Then, I had a 1-hour video interview with the two managers. They asked basic questions and seemed surprised I actually did the free trial. I thought it went well and I'm qualified, but I got a rejection email later. I asked for feedback but got no response, so I guess I dodged a bullet.

The hiring manager didn't show up for the scheduled in-person interview. After I got there and was introduced to the team, he never contacted me again until he sent an email saying no. He ghosted the interview and gave no reason. Maybe he left early for the carbombs he invited a colleague to. This is how they disrespected me, and I'm glad to be avoiding them now. The President/Owner likes to respond to negative reviews on Glassdoor, so we might hear an explanation, but my opinion is that you need to show respect to get respect.
