The interview started with a basic recruiter phone screen. The first appointment was cancelled by the interviewer and rescheduled for the next week, super close to the meeting time. The interviewer seemed bored and was just reading off a script. When I asked about expectations and timelines, they said I'd get that info later if they proceeded. Then came a three-hour product assessment, not some generic test, but a deep dive into their actual software. The questions were really vague and open to interpretation, not well-written for requirements gathering. Some questions were about an older version of the software I hadn't seen. It didn't really test my product or technical skills much. A few days later, I was rejected. I should have trusted my gut initially. They probably use this assessment to get free product analysis from experienced PMs, even from candidates they don't plan to hire. Big red flags everywhere. Don't let them waste your time like they did mine. It's good it didn't work out, I found a much better job somewhere else.

The first round was pretty standard. I talked to the first level interviewer, and I asked them questions about the company while they got to know me. The interviewer was brief and seemed annoyed, and they couldn't offer solid answers about the company. When I asked about the position and department, they seemed clueless. Then, they gave me a three-hour assignment to 'show off' my product management skills. It was basically a task to use the product and follow instructions. It felt like they were asking for free product feedback and suggestions, as one question was about product improvement. This gave me a bad feeling, especially since the product's UI/UX looked very outdated. I decided not to continue with the interview process after that. The interviewers later sent a message saying they didn't like that I criticized their UI/UX and advised against this opportunity.
