First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Range.
Sales Associate
The manager will ask you a series of questions, and you'll respond by discussing your past job experiences. The questions will cover challenging customer interactions, your background in customer service, and how you'd approach difficult scenarios to ensure customers get the best possible service based on your prior actions.
- Can you share an example of a challenging customer interaction?
- What is your experience like when it comes to serving customers?
- How would you manage a complicated customer scenario?
Retail Assistant
The interview had really detailed questions that needed a lot of thought and sometimes long answers. Some questions were about situations, like 'What would you do if…' which made me think practically. It was an online interview, so it was easy and comfy. The vibe was pretty chill, and the interviewers were super nice, easy to talk to, and kept encouraging me the whole time.
- What would be your course of action in a given scenario?
Store Manager
First interview with Area Manager was good, he seemed knowledgeable and we talked for over an hour about my career history and what I could bring to the business. He put me forward for a second interview with a Sales or Operations Manager. After a few calls during the week, he phoned me to say everyone was busy and would I mind driving to Yorkshire for the interview, he said he would get back with a time and date for the following week. The week passed without a call and he failed to return my calls.
- Can you describe your management style?
First Line Manager
The interview was conducted by just one person, which isn't ideal for fairness or avoiding bias. It went pretty well, though. The last half hour of the 90-minute interview was spent trying to convince me to join the 'The Range' project in Stowmarket. They warned me it would be like a startup for the next few months, with long days and unpaid overtime. I didn't hear anything for weeks after. I tried asking for feedback multiple times, but the recruiting company, Hawk-3, completely ignored me.
- Tell me about your life outside of work.
- Do you have any hobbies or interests?
