First interview with Area Manager was good, he seemed knowledgeable and we talked for over an hour about my career history and what I could bring to the business. He put me forward for a second interview with a Sales or Operations Manager. After a few calls during the week, he phoned me to say everyone was busy and would I mind driving to Yorkshire for the interview, he said he would get back with a time and date for the following week. The week passed without a call and he failed to return my calls.

It was a really open and informal interview with the manager and deputy manager. They talked about all parts of my past career and what I could bring to the company. They looked into my past experience, the way I approach work, how I develop my team, and whether I'm in it for the wage or to see results, and most importantly, customer service. The interview process took two days.

I drove an hour and a half to an interview at a store, where I spoke with another manager, not my potential direct supervisor. The interview lasted for an hour and a half and felt positive. It was very casual, with no right-to-work verification or structured questions. After two weeks of no contact, I followed up with customer service and head office, but still heard nothing. My conversation with a long-term manager suggested it could be a good workplace, but their hiring practices make me reconsider.
