They mentioned they were expanding their sales team, so this was a new approach for them. Since I have experience in the area, they asked me for my thoughts on how to make their current process better.

First, a 20-minute chat with the recruiter. Then, a 1-hour meeting with the hiring manager. Finally, a 2-hour session with 6 team members. The recruiters had some trouble reaching me via their HR software, so thankfully one of them called to let me know they'd been trying to email about setting up an interview. The call with the hiring manager was super informative and gave me a real insight into the role. The 2-hour 'meet the team' was awesome for getting a feel for the culture and how things work internally in the department and organization. I felt like I was leading the conversation, and most of the team members didn't seem super prepared with really in-depth or engaging questions.

I was contacted by the recruiter pretty fast after applying, like within days. First, there was a quick chat, then a screening round with the HR manager. The first proper phone interview was with someone who seemed to have both tech and PM skills. After that, there was a longer interview, like 2 to 2.5 hours, with a few people who would be stakeholders for the projects I'd be working on. The HR and recruiter got back to me almost right away after that interview to say they were interested in moving forward. I had a few questions, and both the HR and the Hiring Manager made time to answer them, which was really transparent and nice.

I had a great experience with each person I talked to. The interview process was pretty thorough and they were considerate to pay for a project that was part of the interview. However, the process was slow. It took about two months and I had to drop out of the process after being very far along, due to a competing offer. I do think it's a shame that the process moved as slowly as it did; I noted that other interviewee reviewers mentioned 3-4 months being normal, but in a "hot" market for job seekers, this is unfortunately too slow. Overall, it seems like a fantastic place to work, but the recruiting team might need some additional Fools on the team.
