First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Mosaic Company.
Production Operator
A quick interview, with questions relevant to the area and previous work experience, weak and strong points, company objectives, knowledge of occupational safety, and other typical questions for interviews in multinational companies.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- What are your career goals with this company?
- What experience do you have with workplace safety regulations?
Buyer
The company's hiring process is completely different from what they preach daily. They conduct two to three stages with many candidates, with huge gaps between each stage and no feedback or updates from Talent Acquisition. In the end, the position goes to an internal candidate who was already chosen. Besides this absurdity, the process is clear: from the start, we receive the offered salary range and learn about the benefits. The interviews are very well-structured, with both Talent Acquisition and management. They discuss relevant topics for the desired role, present the area, explain what the company expects from the employee, and get to know the candidate's background. From the initial contact to the rejection, it took two and a half months and two stages. 15 days before the rejection, I received an email saying another phase would be scheduled, which led me to decline another company's offer because it gave me hope that I was in the final stage. It's regrettable that a company of this size and reputation 'plays' like this with someone seeking employment.
- Could you describe your proficiency in English?
- What is your experience with SAP?
- Can you detail your technical expertise relevant to this specific role?
Intern
After passing the manager panel, I had an interview. This was different from previous interviews, which had at most two people. This one had about six people, including area managers and HR professionals. I started with a short presentation about my experiences. Then they asked me specific questions about the areas I applied for and talked about their departments. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
- Tell me how you handle challenges in your life, particularly in your academic journey, and provide an example of a situation you've faced, drawing from your experiences, and how you overcame it.
Engineering Intern
The selection process has 2 main interviews. The first is with the Across team, where they ask basic things like what motivated you to apply, how you know the company, and to describe a situation where you had to deal with the unexpected. Then there's a panel stage with managers, which is basically a group activity where there should be a case resolution. Those who pass this phase have an interview with the area managers and the HR team. Everything was conducted very lightly and fluidly; I felt comfortable the whole time and they listened attentively to everything said. It was the best selection process I've ever participated in.
- They asked a lot about who I am.
- What legacy do you want to leave at the company?
- Did you identify any improvement that can be made in the company?
