First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Honest Company.
Executive Assistant
The process had way too many rounds for an EA to the Chief of Staff role. The questions weren't that hard, so it shouldn't have taken 2 months. I had to chase them to schedule interviews. Then they reposted the job before I even met with leadership. I sent them proof of the repost and was told the role was filled, even though someone else said it was paused. Good luck to the new hire, they seem really disorganized.

I think there was some confusion on Honest's side about what the job actually was, like HR and the hiring manager weren't on the same page. The interviews felt like they were for totally different jobs. Also, their communication was pretty bad, I had to chase them up a bunch of times.

Brand Manager
The interview process was straightforward. First I had a phone screen with the recruiter, confirming basic details like compensation expectations, experience level, etc. Next I had phone interview with a mid-senior level member of the team. After that, I completed a video interview with the hiring manager directly.

Client Service Representative
The interview process consists of 5 rounds, after which candidates are ghosted. They do not value the time candidates spend preparing or speaking with recruiters, managers, directors, team leads, and HR representatives over several days. It's unfortunate when candidates make personal sacrifices, like missing a funeral and a graduation, to interview. Companies should be mindful that a multi-round process is time-consuming, and candidates sacrifice valuable time. Ghosting is not a good practice, especially after candidates invest over 30 hours in preparation and interviews, going through an intense and overwhelming experience.
- Can you elaborate on your reasons for valuing honesty?
- How do you handle situations where you need to decline a customer's request?
